Edward Dale Fincher, age 68, of the Hartman’s Chapel Community, passed away at his home on Sunday.
Dale was an avid horse lover. He trained and showed Tennessee Walking Horses for over 50 years. Among his most prized horses was Delights Mr. Zif.
He is survived by his wife: Janie Fincher; two sons: Kevin Fincher of Knoxville and Michael Fincher of Greeneville; a brother and sister-in-law: David and Sherry Fincher and a nephew: Dustin Fincher all of Mosheim; brother-in-law: Jerry Holt of Greeneville; sister-in-law: Doris Holt of Mosheim; many special nieces, nephews, and cousins; godchildren: Matthew and Heather Croy; special little ones: Bailey Croy and Skylar Smith; special cousin: Lisa, Mike, and Lucas Johnson; aunt: Doris Lowery; uncle: Lloyd Lowery; special neighbors: Mellrena Fincher, Teresa Roy, John Short, Tyler Hatcher, Hilton Seay, and Kenny Voiles.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents: Guy and Bonnie Fincher; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Blaine and Brownie Holt; brother-in-law: Richard Holt; sister-in-law: Edna Ruth Holt. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Joe Austin, Dr. Tyler Bailey, and nurse: Vickie Trentham.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 8 o’clock Wednesday evening in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Holt and the Rev. John Grimm officiating.
