Jerry L. Brown, 68, of the Mt. Carmel Community, passed away Saturday at Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He served in the United States Marine Corps and retired from Baker Construction.
Mr. Brown was a member of Mosheim Central United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years: Kitty Brown; daughter: Melanie Brown of the Mt. Carmel Community and special friend: Hurley Leon Landers; step-granddaughter: Erin Freeman and special friend: J.D. Gilletteof Greeneville; sister and brother-in-law: Peggy and Mike Smith of Greeneville; two sisters-in-law: Charlotte Malone of Greeneville and Janice Jones of Bulls Gap; aunt: Patsy Brooks of Greeneville; nieces and nephews: Doug and Jennie Malone of Cookeville, Mell Alan and Terri Malone of Greeneville, Tracey Jones Clowers of Baileyton, Ronnie and Christina Jones of Bulls Gap, Rhonda and Danny Morales of Russellville, Leanne and Chad Johnson of Greeneville; great-nieces and great-nephews: Megan and Dave Apuzzo of Crossville, Molly Malone and Jared Hamlin of North Carolina, Derek Malone of Franklin, Ashley and Kirk Malone of Greeneville, Cassidy and Jeordie Morales of Russellville, Nathan Jones of Bulls Gap, and LeeJay Johnson of Greeneville; special friends: Charles Bales, Mickey Cox, Doyle Ford, Bobby Cook, Jerry Bryant, Bobby Wall, Ralph Brooks, Kenny Helton, and Bobby Ottinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Billie O. and Phyllis Barlow Brown; brother: Ronnie Brown; grandparents: Kelly and Mary Ruth Barlow and George and Wanda Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Long will officiate. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens with the Greene County Honor Guard conveying military honors.
The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Ottinger, Mickey Cox, Cassidy Morales, Nathan Jones, Mike Roberts, and Bobby Cook.
