Alma R. Solomon Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Alma R. “Bitty” Solomon, 92, of Midway, passed away peacefully Wednesday at her home. She retired from the Greene County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office and was a faithful member of Midway United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son: Chris Solomon; sister: Jean Hinkle; special niece and her husband: Cindy and Tim Stamey all of Midway; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; a special great-great-niece: Hannah Wilkerson; special friends and caregivers: Brandi McFarland, Teandrea Anderson, Robin Stroh, Clara Anderson and all her friends at Midway Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest Solomon in 1972; parents: Henry and Pearl Idell; two sisters: Mildred Hendry and Lucille Reagan; two brothers: Howard Idell and Charles Idell. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 2nd, at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Holt will officiate. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service Tuesday. There will be no formal visitation. Pallbearers will be Tim Stamey, Randy Hendry, Shannon Hinkle, Derrick Livingston, Terry Casteel, and Cory Hinkle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
