Anna Ruth Morgan, 88, of the South Central Community, passed away Sunday afternoon Lakebridge, A Waters Community in Johnson City. She was a housewife and attended Horse Creek Mission Church. Survivors include one son: Terry Lynn Morgan; two grandsons: Brad Johnson and Jason Morgan; one great-grandson: Michael Morgan; one brother and sister-in-law: James and Elouise Penley; a sister-in-law: Sandra Morgan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years: Joseph Frank Morgan in 2017; one daughter: Patricia Ann Milton; one son: Randy Lee Morgan; grandson: Joseph Wayne “Joey” Morgan; parents: Dan and Gracie Painter Penley; one sister: Ida Lee Patton; and an infant brother. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Cemetery in the South Central Community. The Rev. Terry Johnson will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service. At her request there will be no formal visitation. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jack Whitaker. The family wishes to say thank you to the nurses and staff of Johnson City Medical Center for their care and attention.
