Eugene "Genie" Clinton Kesterson

Obituary Eugene "Genie" Kesterson, age 87 of Greeneville, passed away Monday afternoon at Laughlin Healthcare Center. He was a member of Victory Church of God. Mr. Kesterson was a farmer and a mechanic for TVA. He was also a member of VFW Post 1990.He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Diane and Donnie Brooks of Greeneville; one son: Arland Kesterson of San Jose, CA; two special grandsons: Tracy and Rhonda Brooks and Sammy and Bobbie Sue Brooks, all of Greeneville; four great-grandchildren: Jacob Brooks, Joey, and Mallory Bowers and Kalie Brooks, all of Greeneville; one step-granddaughter, Rena Brooks; one step-great-grandchild: Megan Brooks, both of Greeneville; grandson: Allen Kesterson; granddaughter: Connie Kesterson and her family of Tacoma, WA; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews; one very special friend at Laughlin Healthcare, Rev. Luther Reed, and his friends and the staff of Laughlin Healthcare Center.He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Ruth Kesterson; a twin sister, Georgina Douthat; and one brother, Rev. Glen Kesterson.The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Jimmy Fillers officiating. Interment will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Harmon Valley Cemetery.
