Gail Davis Jeffers

September 18, 1956 - May 18, 2022

Gail Davis Jeffers, age 65, a lifelong resident of the Glendale Community, passed away Wednesday afternoon at her home. She was a 1974 graduate of Chuckey-Doak High School. She was an employee of the Circuit Court Clerk’s office for five years, before working in the District Attorney General’s office for eleven years. In 1994, she was elected Greene County Circuit Court Clerk and retired during her fifth term on June 30, 2012. Gail was active in all areas of Greene County Politics, especially the Republican Party. She was a member of the Greene County Republican Women’s Club and the Women of the Moose. She attended Doty’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband: Charles Jeffers; children: Andrea Hill, Chuck and Mary Jo Jeffers; grandchildren: Mason Hill (Madison Marion), Rebecca (Curtis Lambert), and Melanie Jeffers; great-grandchild: Adira; sister: Judy Kitzmiller and Derrick; niece: Amanda and David Whittiker; great-niece: Khloe Whittiker; great-nephew: Kristopher Hilton; aunt: Azalee Grindstaff; uncle: Henard Myers; cousin: Billy Joe Brown; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Don and Doris Jeffers; nephew: Keith Jeffers; and numerous family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Juanita and Leon Davis; niece: Whitney Lowe; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Robert and Leda Mae Jeffers. The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home from 4 – 8 p.m. on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel. Mr. Kevin Morrison will officiate. Interment will follow in GraceLand Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Erik Kiker, Mason Hill, Curtis Lambert, Billy Joe Brown, Keith Jeffers, Charles Morelock, and Jackie Quillen. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Montgomery, Berkeley Bell, and the members of the Drug Task Force. Gail was a staunch supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital, therefore the family asks that those who prefer to make memorial donations, please consider St. Jude’s.
