Kathy Fortner, age 80, of Greeneville, passed away Thursday evening at Life Care Center of Greeneville. She retired from Plus Mark. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Jerry Anderson; four grandchildren: Joseph and Faith Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Gabby Anderson, and Calysta Anderson; one great-granddaughter: Lily Anderson, who was born on Kathy’s birthday, September 17th; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Jean Rice, Atlas and Paul Carter, Wilma and Max Williams; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: John Fortner; parents: Kody and Sinda Shelton; sister: Inave Shelton; six brothers: Conley Shelton, Stanley Shelton, Heinon Shelton, Garland Shelton, Delmas Shelton, and Scott Shelton. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Horse Creek Church of God Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Morrison officiating. Those who wish to travel in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens by 11 a.m. There will be no formal visitation. Kathy and my mom Mildred were friends. I couldn't begin to tell you how many times she cut my hair when I was little. The last time I saw her, my mom had pasted and she came to say goodbye. My prayers go out to her family. Kathy was 1 of the good ones!

I worked with Kathy many years ago at Plus Mark. Always enjoyed sharing a laugh with her. Got to know Jerry and Lisa over the years. I send my deepest sympathies and prayers to all the family.

So sorry for your loss. Kathy always had a special place in my heart. Her and mom(Norma Leonard)would talk on the phone for hours laughing at each other. She will be missed.
I remember Kathy, she was a sweet and funny Lady. She was a great friend to my Sister Cathy and Betty. Many thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time.

Got to be friends with your mom May 12 1980. We were friends from that day. We had some good time's working together. She was a fun lady that made the days better. After she got sick she wanted to go to her heavenly home. Now her and mom can visit again. She was a good neighbor to momma. Call on me if you need anything. Love you. My sympathy to the family.
