Linford Wilkes

Linford Wilkes, age 84, of Greeneville, passed away Tuesday at Greeneville Community Hospital. He was a retired building contractor. Survivors include his wife: Shirley Wilkes; two children: Andy Wilkes, Catherine and Allen Shelton; three grandchildren: Tracie and Matt Baines, Justin Ricker and Sarah Brooks, and Joshua Ricker; five great-grandchildren: Peyton Lawing, Nova Ricker, River Ricker, Capell Ricker, and Paisley Ann Baines; four brothers: Leo Wilkes, Ronnie Wilkes, David Wilkes, and Linburg Wilkes; and a special pet: Princess. He was a son of the late Bishop and Blanche Wilkes and was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 30th, at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ray Shelton officiating. Interment will be in River Hill Cemetery. It is the request of the family, that those attending please wear a facial covering. Pallbearers will be Justin Ricker, Josh Ricker, Matt Baines, Peyton Lawing, TJ Burkey, and Allen Shelton.Read Obituary
