Lula Mae Majors, 86 years old of Mosheim, Tennessee, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at her home. She was born in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, graduated from Knoxville West High School, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Hamilton Business College, Greeneville, Tennessee. She was retired from the Walmart in Greeneville, Tennessee. Mrs. Majors was a member of Oldham Street Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, and attended Concord Baptist Church in Mohawk, Tennessee, as long as her health permitted. She also attended the Mosheim Senior Citizens Center in Mosheim, Tennessee, where she enjoyed lunch and fellowship with her many friends and neighbors and attended Roby Adult Center in Greeneville, Tennessee, where she especially enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by 5 of her 6 children and their spouses: Darlene & Robert Moore, Linda & Carlos Vazquez, Kenny & Lesa Majors, Mary Valentine and Phillip & Tracie Majors; and her son-in-law, Jerry Miller; Grandchildren and their spouses: Jaima Weems, Joseph & Tia Vazquez, Jonathan & Leah Vazquez, Matthew & Nikki Majors, Megan & Scottie Lawson, Michael & Jacqui Dingus, Alan Dingus, Chris & Heather Miller, Ashley & Michael Franklin, Tyler Majors, Candace & Cory Braithwaite, Adam & Anna Boles, Great grandchildren: Jeremiah Bales & Matthew Smith, Shevon Weems, Alysia & Aria Vazquez, Alex, EmmaLee & Jonah Vazquez, Dejah & Brayson Majors, Skyler Shelton, Kendrix Morgan, Damen Cremins, Madison, Abigail & Hailee Dingus, AJ Majors, Mercedes Miller, Kennedy & Cole Frankin. Also, survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. A special thanks to her special friends and caregivers, Tia and Jamie Salyers, and caregivers, Jaime Weems, Keela Shipley, Brenda Carter, Robin Anderson, Shay Phillips Baker, Madison & Hailee Dingus, and Una Wilson-Verde . Also, a special thanks to Dr. Dustin Clarke, Allie, Christa, Leslie, Karen, Gertrude, Angela and everyone at Smokey Mountain Hospice, Greeneville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth V. Majors, her parents, Claude Ball and Trula Ball Cannon, and her daughter, Trudy Miller. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home in Greeneville, Tennessee. The funeral service will follow at 6pm in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Long and the Rev. Donnie Bible officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Acuff Cemetery, 6940 TN-131-S, Grainger County, Tennessee, for graveside service and interment. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital – 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Roby Adult Center – 203 N. College St., Greeneville TN 37745. Pallbearers will include: A.J. Majors, Jeremiah Bales, Matthew Smith, Matthew Majors, Michael Franklin, Cory Braithwaite, Jamie Salyers, and Adam Boles.
