Mark Anthony Cody

Mark Anthony Cody went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2022 at the age of 38. Mark had the most precious laughter and a smile that would light up a room. He loved going to church and praising the Lord. He was a people person, who never met a stranger, always saying hi. Mark loved going for a ride, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and listening to music. Survivors include his mother and dad: DeAnna and Donnie Sluss; father and step-mother: Tony and Donna Cody; sister: Patricia Perkins; brother and sister-in-law: Daniel and Ashley Sluss; nephew: Benjamin Perkins; nieces: Emma Perkins, Anna Sluss, Addison Sluss, Audrey Sluss, and Andrea Sluss; uncles: Terry Barnett and wife, Robin, Bill Cody and wife, Judy; aunt: Rochelle Osborne and husband, Rick; several cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Thomas “Bud” Barnett (Papaw) and Faye Barnett (Mamaw); paternal grandparents: William Zed Cody and JoAnn Cody; brother-in-law: Jeremy Perkins; nephew: Elijah Mullins. The family would like to thank Dawn of Hope and the special caregivers he has had over the last 21 years. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19th, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Church, 178 Pickens Bridge Road, Johnson City, TN, 37615. The funeral service will follow visitation with the Rev. Bill Cody and Bishop Richard Hilton officiating. Interment will follow the funeral in East Lawn Memorial Park in Kingsport.Read Obituary
