Martha D. Fannon, age 74, of Greeneville died Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at her home after a 23 year battle with cancer. She never wavered in her fight through the good days or the bad; always living for the present and fighting for tomorrow. Mrs. Fannon was a member of Mt. Pleasant U.M.C. and had retired from Philips-Magnavox/ Five Rivers. She enjoyed bowling in the Tuesday Morning Coffee League. Her family will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and she lived by the verse from 2 Timothy 4:7; I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Mrs. Fannon is survived by her children: Rhonda Fannon and Rick and Lori Fannon; grandchildren: Amber and Will Anderson, Matt and Beth Fannon. Michael Fannon, Marc Fannon, Matt Westmorland, and Casey and Rustin Jones; great grandchildren: Aleeyah Fannon, Nevaeh Anderson, Trinity Anderson, Maverick Fannon, Archer Fannon, Lincoln Jones, and Eva Belle Jones; three sisters: Bonnie Sauceman, Linda and JT Brown, and Mitzi and Ralph Dixon; two brothers: Calloway and Jane Pitts and Edward Pitts; several special nieces and nephews; special friend: Carolyn Finchum; and caregivers, her niece: Norma and Danny Ricker; special thanks to Allie Long RN and Chrysta Long RN, and the staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. She is preceded in death by her husband: Archie Fannon; parents: James Henry and Pauline D. Pitts; sisters: Josephine Lee, Brenda Tipton, Ann Boyd, Pearl Rice, and Viola Coffee; three brothers: Doug Pitts, Paul Pitts, and Carl Pitts. Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Long and Rev. Karen Black will be officiating. Everyone is asked to meet by 1:00 pm Friday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home to go in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for the 2:00 pm graveside service. Palbearers will include: Matt Fannon, Michael Fannon, Marc Fannon, Matt Westmorland, Will Anderson, and Conner Woody. The Fannon family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
