Mary Diane Belcher Steele Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Diane Belcher Steele, age 84, of Greeneville died Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Steele was an active member for over 50 years of First Baptist Church of Greeneville and attended as long as her health permitted. She was also a much loved Sunday School Teacher for many years. Mrs. Steele was a Registered Nurse for over 45 years. She worked for the Tennessee Department of Health for 30 years and was also the Director of Nursing at the Greene County Health Department and a Regional Director of Nursing for Northeast Tennessee. After retiring, she worked 15 years as a nurse for Holston Methodist Home. Mrs. Steele is survived by her husband: James Steele; daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Tim Stroud; son and daughter-in-law: David and Lisa Belcher; grandchildren: Trent and Mandi Stroud, Lauren Belcher, Michael Nakamine, Anna and Garrett Hartman, Caleb Morrison, and Erin Morrison; great grandchildren: Jackson and Marley Stroud; nieces and nephews: Cathy Ecker, Connie Howard, Mike Belcher, and Steve Belcher. She is preceded in death by her first husband of 53 years: Ben Belcher; parents: Lester and Louise Davis; and a sister and brother-in-law: Margaret and Tony Absher. Funeral services for Mrs. Steele will be 10:00 am Friday, July 22, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Greeneville. Rev. Joey Tillery and Rev. Dallas Moore will be officiating. A private graveside will be held at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Greeneville, Ailey Baptist Church in Sevierville, and the Greeneville/Greene County Humane Society.
