Mary Ruth Brank Golden, age 92, of Greeneville, entered into her Heavenly home on Sunday. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, great-grandmother, and a very special aunt. She attended First Baptist Church of Greeneville as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Golden retired from Butte Knit Factory (Green Manufacturing). Survivors include her loving son: Michael Golden; sister and brother-in-law: Rena Faye and Lou Ferringer of South Carolina; sister-in-law: Perle Golden of Kentucky; grandson, who she loved with all her heart: Josh Golden of Chattanooga (she was so proud of Josh); granddaughters: Whitney Shelton and Brittany Rotich; great-grandsons: Dillion Shelton and Nehemiah Rotich; great-granddaughters: Hannah Shelton and Genesis Rotich; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; special friends: Cari Marshall, Sue Brank, and Peggy Cook; special caregivers: Terrie Grubbs (niece), Carolyn Buech, and Shirley Gregg. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles L. “Goldie” Golden in 1985; son: Leonard Golden; daughter-in-law: Debbie Gulley; several sisters, brothers, her parents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. At her request, there will be no formal visitation. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 2nd, at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery with her grandson, Josh, officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens at 1:15 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. The family asks that those attending please wear a facial mask and observe social distancing protocol. Pallbearers will be Roger Brank, Paul Cook, Joe Harmon, Tommy Burchett, John Rader, and Allen Grubbs.
