Mary Ruth Brank Golden, age 92, of Greeneville, entered into her Heavenly home on Sunday. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, great-grandmother, and a very special aunt. She attended First Baptist Church of Greeneville as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Golden retired from Butte Knit Factory (Green Manufacturing). Survivors include her loving son: Michael Golden; sister and brother-in-law: Rena Faye and Lou Ferringer of South Carolina; sister-in-law: Perle Golden of Kentucky; grandson, who she loved with all her heart: Josh Golden of Chattanooga (she was so proud of Josh); granddaughters: Whitney Shelton and Brittany Rotich; great-grandsons: Dillion Shelton and Nehemiah Rotich; great-granddaughters: Hannah Shelton and Genesis Rotich; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; special friends: Cari Marshall, Sue Brank, and Peggy Cook; special caregivers: Terrie Grubbs (niece), Carolyn Buech, and Shirley Gregg. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles L. “Goldie” Golden in 1985; son: Leonard Golden; daughter-in-law: Debbie Gulley; several sisters, brothers, her parents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. At her request, there will be no formal visitation. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 2nd, at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery with her grandson, Josh, officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens at 1:15 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. The family asks that those attending please wear a facial mask and observe social distancing protocol. Pallbearers will be Roger Brank, Paul Cook, Joe Harmon, Tommy Burchett, John Rader, and Allen Grubbs. The family of Mary Ruth Brank Golden would like to thank the staff of Kim Hoyle and Dr. Tumkur and a very special thanks to the staff of Amedisys. Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
