MIllie Anderson

May 13, 2022

Millie Anderson of Greeneville died Friday, May 13, 2022 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from Worthington Industries. Born in Limestone to the late Harold G. and Dimple Lewis Anderson, she later graduated from Washington College Academy and went on to graduate from Walters State Community College. Ms. Anderson lived in the Charleston, SC area and became very fond of the low country and beaches. She always enjoyed walks on the beach with her granddaughters and collecting shells, as well as the fresh seafood. She loved music, her favorites were Glen Campbell and Neil Diamond. Ms. Anderson was talented at cross-stitching and started a tedious 20-page pattern named “Pandemic”, and had completed six pages at the time of her passing. Ms. Anderson enjoyed watching birds come to her bird feeders, the many birds always brightened her day. Occasionally there would be deer and turkey come to her feeders. Her family will always remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ms. Anderson is survived by her two daughters: Lori McCracken (Craig Smith) and Linda McCracken; two granddaughters: Allie and Chris Long and Sadie Caroline Smith; two great granddaughters: Amelia Kate Long and Lindy Rebecca Long; a sister: Swanita and Don Mynatt of Seymour; a brother: Joey Anderson; a sister-in-law: Beth Anderson of Ohio; two nieces: Tiffany Mynatt and Sherri Anderson; three nephews: Charlie and Melanie Anderson, Trevor Mynatt, and Michael and Roaxanne Anderson; former husband and father to her daughters: Larry McCracken. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: Gary Anderson; and a nephew: David Anderson. The Anderson family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 6:00 pm at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Long and Rev. Danny Ricker will be officiating. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Montgomery and staff Rachel and Dana, and Kim with Dr. Tumkur’s office.
