Phillip Michael “Fred” Seay, age 30, died Saturday, February 26, 2022. Mr. Seay worked for the Hamblen County TDOT as a mechanic. In his free time, he loved to ride motorcycles and was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family. Everyone knew him as a loving husband, father, son, and friend. Mr. Seay is survived by his wife: Katheryn Seay; son: Ethan Seay; his mother: Crystal and Kelvin Ivey; his father: James and Stephanie Shelton; sister: Trinity Ivey; seven brothers: Hunter and Megan Shelton, Daniel Shelton, Dustin Roark, Chase Pierce, Cody Ivey, Chase Ivey, and Allen Ivey; grandmother: Beverly Seay; grandfather: Roy and Janie Shelton; mother-in-law: Brenda Godfrey; an aunt: Oralee Shelton; four uncles: Travis Seay, Scott Seay, Brad Seay and Sarah Blonder, and William Shelton; a brother-in-law: Kevin Godfrey; his favorite cousins: Dylan Hale, Makayla Seay, Ace Hale, and Kyle Seay; special friends: Thomas Reedy, Mike Bussman, Nathan Brock, Stephanie Bunch, Carol Pierce, and Jon Cravens. Mr. Seay is preceded in death by his grandmother: Evelene Shelton, and his grandfather: Bobby Seay. Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Friday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Minister Nathan Brock will be officiating. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday at McMillian FWB Church Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet by 10:00 am to go in procession from the funeral home. Pallbearers will include his brothers, uncles, and Mike Bussman. Honorary pallbearers will include: Ethan Seay, Jared Sheets, Aaron Sheets, Brandon “Smitty” Smith, Hal Jeffries, the Hamblen County TDOT Garage, and extended family and friends. The Seay family will receive friends from 4 – 7 pm Thursday and 1 – 3 & 5 – 7 pm Friday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choosing.
