Rickey Darrell Shuffler

September 13, 1948 - May 27, 2022

Rickey Darrell Shuffler, age 73, of the South Greene Community, passed away Friday at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a Marine Veteran and retired from Norfolk Southern. He was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church. He was a beloved husband, dad, grandfather, uncle, son, brother and friend. Survivors include his wife of 40 years: Kathy Shuffler; son: Chris and Rachael Shuffler and their children: Greyson Darrell and Carter Darrell; daughter: Summer and Isaac Culbert; grand dogs: Abby and Cujo; children from his first marriage: Rickey Jr. Shuffler, Robert Shuffler, Rebecca Hall, and Kristen Puckett and their families; brother and sister-in-law: Larry and Nina Shuffler; sisters: Nancy Puckett and Gail Baker; sister-in-laws and brothers-in-law: Donna Shuffler, Richard Peters, Barbara and Johnny Shipley; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother: Lucille “Boots” Shuffler; brother: R.C. “June Bug” Shuffler. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Fort Sanders, Holly McGaw, Dr. Swisher, Dr. Farrow, and the V.A. doctors who have helped take care of Mr. Shuffler over the years. The family will receive friends from 2 – 5 p.m. on Friday, June 3rd, at Reformation Lutheran Church. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. at the church with Pastor Jim Dumond officiating.
