Vince Mullins, age 54, of the Lost Mountain Community died Friday at Johnson City Medical Center. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Mullins served in the US Army for over six years. He was a proud Tennessee Highway Patrol State Trooper, earning Trooper of the Year in both 2013 and 2016. He was also the DUI Officer of the Year 2013 – 2015; these are just a few of the many numerous achievements and accomplishments he earned throughout his career with the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Mr. Mullins enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs: Sophie, Copper, Luna, and Rook. He also enjoyed working on cars and riding his motorcycle with his dad and his wife. He was a loving and devoted husband, son, father, and grandfather. Mr. Mullins id survived by his loving wife: Shelly Mullins; his six children and their spouses: Jonathan and Brooke Burr, Mark and Shauna Trent, Matthew Trent, Jalyn Vaught, Hayden and Keeley Mullins, and Dariane and Sully Cobble; his five grandchildren: Briggs, Teddy, Reuben, Jourdanne, and Teaganne; his parents: Johnny and Lisa Mullins; two sisters: Jenny Mullins and Crystal Henderson; several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews. Mr. Mullins is preceded in death by his grandparents: Omer and Elizabeth Mullins. The Mullins family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 pm and 5:00 – 7:00 pm Monday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Ricker and Rev. Jerrod Manning will be officiating. Everyone is asked to meet by 10:00 am Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home to go in procession to Caney Creek Cemetery for the 11:00 am graveside service. Pallbearers will include: Paul Penley, Wayne Penley, Julian Robinson, Noah Click, James Fillers, and Lee Cutshall. Honorary pallbearers will be all the fellow Tennessee Highway Patrol in the Fall Branch District.
