Elizabeth "Betty" Hensley

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Hensley, 77, of the Horse Creek Community, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 1, 2020.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who came to know her. She loved God and attended Greene Ridge FWB Church as long as her health permitted.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents: James Lamion and Lula Mae Wood; daughter: Sally Josephine Ellerman; daughter: Elizabeth Mae “Beth” Sauceman; brother and sister-in-law: Benny and Doris Wood; and special friend: Tresa Ellis. Betty is survived by her children: Amel and Amy Ellerman, B.J. and Lori Ellerman, Jeffrey Lynn Sauceman, Tina Laughlin all of Greeneville, David and Devon Hensley of Afton, Timothy Brian and April Hensley of Mosheim, Jason and Shauna Kelly of Clarksville, and Misty Seal of Benson, Arizona; grandchildren: Jamie and Jason Knight of Newport, Alisha Sauceman and Wesley Poling of Greeneville, Joe and Stephanie Ellerman of Greeneville, Tiffany Dearstone and Brandon Schmidt of Lincoln, Nebraska, Travis and Courtney Ellerman of Greeneville, Thomas Hilderbrand of Greeneville, David and Kayla Hilderbrand of Greeneville, Amber Ellerman of Greeneville, Tyler and Trevin Hensley of Afton, Verda, Claira, and Nola Kelly of Clarksville, Anna-lee Seal of Benson, Arizona; great-grandchildren: Hunter and Michaela Baird of Greeneville, Mikey Hilderbrand of Greeneville, Kaylan and Kelsey Knight of Newport, Tucker and Sutton Ellerman of Greeneville, Oliver, Donnie, Elizabeth and Madelyn Hilderbrand all of Greeneville, Makayla, Maddie, and Jacob Schmidt of Lincoln, Nebraska; siblings: Danny and Janie Wood of Emison, Indiana, Leo and Bobbi Wood of Vincennes, Indiana, Jimmy Wood of Emison, Indiana, Steve and Jan Wood of Vincennes, Indiana, Ethel and Don Clark of Newport, Nina Ray and Dale Baetke of Princeton, Iowa, Brenda and John Blaize of Brooksville, Florida; special friends: Clark and Phyllis Hensley of Afton, Roger and Norlaine Hensley of Afton, Roger and Donna Hampton of Afton, Alesia and Ricky Hampton of Afton, Jimmy and Peggy McCoy of Greeneville, Harold and Connie Sellars of Greeneville, and Sue Segarra of Afton.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
